Lanternslide opens on a random day from your past and plays your photos forward in time — full screen, with a slow pan and zoom, and the date and place in the corner. Three ways to look: one whole photo, one photo filling the screen, or a few prints scattered on a dark table.

Common questions

It says it needs photo access.

Open Settings › Lanternslide › Photos and choose Full Access. With Limited Access, only the photos you picked are played.

Some photos take a moment to appear.

Photos stored only in iCloud are downloaded the first time they are shown. A quick preview appears first and is replaced by the sharp version when it arrives.

Can I skip screenshots?

Yes — Settings › Skip Screenshots (on by default).
